Bakemasters March – Spring-themed Treats

For March Bakemasters, we decided to make Spring-themed treats in the hopes of encouraging the season to come quickly. It snowed here yesterday, so it needs all the encouragement it can get. We found these rice krispie easter eggs and decided to give them a try. There was just a few us, perfect for getting around a single pot.

Afterwards of course it was game time. Have you tried Ticket to Ride? We built railroads all over the USA – hungry work requires sustenance, like rice krispie Easter eggs =p. What’s your favourite board game (i.e excuse to the wonderful treats you just made)?

  • 6 cups marshmallows
  • 8 cups toasted rice cereal
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 cups chopped white chocolate
  • sprinkles of various sizes and shapes
  1. Heat marshmallows and butter over medium heat for 5 – 10 minutes until smooth (stirring frequently).
  2. Working quickly stir in cereal and 3/4 cup chopped white chocolate.
  3. Remove from heat and make sure that all the cereal is well coated.
  4. Transfer into large oiled (or cooking sprayed) bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes
  5. Line cupcake tins, spray hands and 1/4 cup measure with cooking spray.
  6. Use 1/4 cup measure to scoop and make eggs shapes. Repeat until finished.
  7. Melt remaining white chocolate. Dip eggs and decorate.
Makes 24-8 eggs
