Cookie Sticks

As promised my pretzel M&M recipe – Cookie sticks. I saw this recipe over on Cookies & Cups and I knew I had to try it. Gooey cookies covered in M&Ms, plus the recipe is butter-free – perfect when your fridge is less than stocked =p The cookie sticks are removed from the oven when just baked, which leaves the inside that perfect kind of yummy. But I didn’t stop there. Somehow I just didn’t think they were complete… so I dipped them in white chocolate. Now that’s dessert =) Check it out…


Here’s what you need:

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 sugar
  • 3/4 brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • 1.5 cups of flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • As many M&Ms as you want =p
  • 150g white chocolate

Here’s what you do:

  1. Heat oven to 190C (375F). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla sugar in medium bowl. Add in dry ingredients and stir till just combined.
  3. Divide dough in 2 parts and form into rectangles on cookie sheet.
  4. Press M&Ms into dough.
  5. Bake for 8-9 minutes (You’ll want to leave it in for longer – don’t.) Let cool for 5 minutes then use a knife to carefully cut the sticks. Leave on cookie sheet until completely cool.
  6. Melt chocolate, dip sticks, and let chocolate harden on parchment paper.

My review:

The cookie sticks were great, especially with white chocolate. I brought them to a potluck and they disappeared of the tray. The M&M’s, on the other hand, so far my least favourite variety =( Oh well, back to peanut I guess.
