Excuse our appearance – works in progress

Hi Everybody and Happy Tuesday. Normally Tuesday on Doctorate Housewife means Temptation Tuesdays- a recap of the week, plus lots of yummy treats from my favourite blogs. This week is a bit different. You see, on Friday the 5th we got some good news. After months of waiting we finally received the necessary permits to remove the asbestos from our house. You may have noticed that at about that time I disappeared. That’s because before the work can start, the half of the house that will be treated first must be emptied. Last week I worked like a mad woman to get as much as I could done and then this Sunday some awesome friends helped us with all the bigger furniture. I have this week to prepare our nest down in the basement and then next Monday the workmen show up and our house turns into this:

This round of renovations is starting to get real! Next week I hope to be back with tasty treats (hint – it involves speculoos), updates on the renovation plans (hint – how a bathroom became a closet and how a hallway might get a second life as a bathroom), and some fun healthy-living posts (I owe you an update on my No Seconds challenge).  But for now, have a great week! Time for me to go back to moving a house within a house. =)
